Goodbye 2017

Well… we’ve made it. Somehow.

Honestly it’s hard to believe we’re reached the end of 2017. I mean it feels like it went by in a flash, maybe this is something that happens when you get older, but it really does feel like that. Looking back on the past 12 months I can say on a personal level I accomplished some things that are pretty big milestones, my most notable one probably being getting my driver’s license. Granted I still have to take lessons one of these days but at least I can finally say I have it. Yay.

Personal milestones aside though, another highlight for me from this past year has to be my weekend trip to Vancouver. Didn’t really cover that too much on Twitter as I wanted to take a break for most of the time, but honestly it was such a great time. It was amazing getting to leave the Island for more than a day and staying in a new place for a couple days, just experiencing something totally new and different from that normal. Everything was on a much grander scale, the city bigger, the buildings taller, the crowds bigger, the cars nicer, everything about that trip was amazing. I even got to go see Rogers Arena too which was special as I’ve always wanted to go inside and see what’s it’s like. My goal is still to actually attend a hockey game there, maybe 2018 will finally be the time to make that happen.

One thing I see lots of people do around this time of year is list people who made their year special or just list people they want to thank. I’ve always thought about doing that but I feel that I’ll always forget someone or if I mention someone and not another person then it feels like I’m favoring them over others. But if I were to honestly list a couple people who deserve a shout out then I’d say OG-Man and Jorge are two guys who are up there. I talk to you guys a lot on Twitter and I enjoy our discussions so much, be it about idols, Symphogear, anime in general, or whatever, I always have a good time talking with you guys and you really deserve being mentioned. Others who come to mind are Joe (editor Joe) thanks for all your work in editing and all your posts for Anime Corps, Deven my right hand man for all the great conversations on Twitter, Joe(gif making Joe) for all the gifs you’ve made and let me use in reviews, and Tsuyuki thanks for all the excellent editorials on Anime Corps, you’ve covered so many topics and generated lots of discussions from your work and I look forward to seeing what you bring to the table next year. And of course all my followers here who still actually read this blog, thanks for stopping by and reading what little I post here. Most of my Twitter followers won’t see this but thanks for being an awesome group of people and for putting up with my screaming hockey tweets, lewd RT spams, endless anime stuff, and everything in between. Like I said, I’m probably forgetting so many people but I really want to let you know that I’m happy to have you all along for the ride and I hope that you’ll stay here, be it following my blogs or hanging out with me on Twitter, for another year. Thank you all for making this year great, but let’s make next year even better.

I think I’ll end it here for now. I’m sure I’m forgetting to say a lot of things, but this is honestly a really rushed post I wanted to get finished a couple days ago instead of waiting until the last 6 hours of the year. Like always I don’t know when the next post will be, hopefully soon but I’ll see how it goes. I do know that there will be an Utaha nendo post coming soon as I wanted to do that months ago but…. yeah that didn’t really happen. Anyways I’ll try to make blogging something I do more often next year, I think that was my goal for this year but I’ll carry it over to the next.

Thanks for reading, happy New Year to you all and let’s make 2018 a good one.

Take care!

-Nick
